1 hour before I purchased a flight ticket for my son Harry to come home, from America,

for Christmas 2012 in New Zealand, my very generous mother,

decided the entire family are going with her on her last overseas trip abroad.

Brother Craig chose India; his "spiritual home".

There is no place I want to go to less,

but if I want to see my sons Luke and Harry at Christmas,

I have to go.

This blog will tell the tale ...from start to finish.

Will I love India or hate it?

I thought the India trip was looking merely a possible and I was c. 1 hour
from buying tickets for harry to come home…
Will nanna be ok all alone?
I know Mum said she could do 2-3 weeks in the rest home
But do you think she will be ok?
Maybe I can get out of this by guilting the family about leaving 98yr old Nanna behind-Ann

  1. Nana is (I have this on very good authority) planning a knees-up at Mum's place while we're away. Kat and Georgie will be there chasing each other around the sofa and Aunty Betty is coming up from Otaki. They're getting Indian takeaways every night and Nana is doing a re-enactment of her Dance of the 7 Veils from Christmas 1974.
