for Christmas 2012 in New Zealand, my very generous mother,
decided the entire family are going with her on her last overseas trip abroad.
Brother Craig chose India; his "spiritual home".
There is no place I want to go to less,
but if I want to see my sons Luke and Harry at Christmas,
I have to go.
This blog will tell the tale ...from start to finish.
Will I love India or hate it?

Santa Cruz Basilica, Fort Kochi The original church, situated in Fort Kochi, was built by the Portuguese in 1505 and named as a cathedral in 1558. The British colonists destroyed the cathedral in 1795. The current structure was built in 1905 and raised to the status of a basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1984.

Subject: INDIAN VISA
NO PANIC -I have decided that it would be prudent to get Visas for as many of us as possible before we leave NZ . I am concerned that with 11 people fronting up to the counter at Chennai we may clog up the process and be caught in the airport for 2 hours! The application process is quite simple and once received I can take all passports into the embassy with the signed docs.
So before the end of October please go to https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/indianVisaReg.jsp and fill out the application online. See attached template with necessary additions (signatures, departure port, hotels, destinations, entry port etc etc. Any questions just email me.
Once you have filled out the online application, glue one passport photo onto it and paperclip another. Put Passport and signed application and courier to me, by end first week of November
