My passport arrived safely...
1 hour before I purchased a flight ticket for my son Harry to come home, from America,
for Christmas 2012 in New Zealand, my very generous mother,
decided the entire family are going with her on her last overseas trip abroad.
Brother Craig chose India; his "spiritual home".
There is no place I want to go to less,
but if I want to see my sons Luke and Harry at Christmas,
I have to go.
This blog will tell the tale ...from start to finish.
Will I love India or hate it?

I think it probably necessary that I advise you all to discuss with your doctor what inoculations are required for India.
NB I will not be getting anything other than maybe a Tetanus boaster and stocking up on Rum for medicinal purposes. It is outside of the monsoon and my research suggests little risk of Malaria including the coastal Kerela. However mosquito repellent is a good idea. But I am not a doctor so make up your own minds! Hepatitis B & C is from blood so unless your thinking of taking drugs, getting down with a local or getting into a knife fight don't worry. Hepatitis A and E, the commonest forms of viral hepatitis, spread mainly through contaminated food or water. So lots of hot curry, and deep fried hot food and bottled water and you'll be OK. Other weird and wonderful diseases are everywhere and if you are careful risk is very low.

Yay! We will not be in India in March
Thanks wikipedia; Holi (Hindi: होली)) is a religious spring festival celebrated by Hindus. It is primarily observed in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and countries with large Indic diaspora populations following Hinduism. It is also known as Phagwah and Festival of Colours, or as Basantotsav ("spring festival") . The most celebrated Holi is in the Braj region, in locations connected to the Lord Krishna: Mathura, Vrindavan, Nandagaon, and Barsana.

I googled ‘India’ images…
Thanks all you Taj Mahal photographers. You know who you are.
As no one is likely to actually read my blog, I feel pretty safe in saying ; there will be no commercial gains by your lovely photos.
On the first page of google there are 21 photos of the palace(often repeated), 3 photos of an Air India jet and a handful of photos of beggars in the streets and many maps.
