1 hour before I purchased a flight ticket for my son Harry to come home, from America,

for Christmas 2012 in New Zealand, my very generous mother,

decided the entire family are going with her on her last overseas trip abroad.

Brother Craig chose India; his "spiritual home".

There is no place I want to go to less,

but if I want to see my sons Luke and Harry at Christmas,

I have to go.

This blog will tell the tale ...from start to finish.

Will I love India or hate it?

I don’t want to go to India; REASON No 13. They throw babies off buildings!!!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1204699/Pictured-Horrific-baby-dropping-ritual-India-sees-toddlers-thrown-roof-good-prosperity.html
ironic reason Number 13…bad luck for the babies I say.Ed. This particular ritual took place in the village of Harangal, Parbhani, in western India's Maharashtra. Hundreds of people turned out for the annual event, which is thought to have been followed by Hindus and Muslims for nearly 700 years in the belief the fall ensures good health and prosperity for their families. After the child lands and bounces on the bed sheet, held taught by a group of around 14 men, he or she is then quickly passed through the crowd to their mothers.

I don’t want to go to India; REASON No 11;POLLUTION
I don’t like pollution. But hey -at least the nurse tells me the only side effect of the vaccinations is a possible sun sensitivity with HEP A. That’s ok… brother craig said  “you can’t see the sun through the pollution” so I should be good.

I don’t want to go to India Reason No.9…
I don’t like Hoiking. When using the work ‘hoik’ I would always prefer explanation No 1. or  No.3. to No.2.(see *’Dictionary meaning’ below)
My sister Christine told the story of a friend of hers visiting India. She said the people collected the small juice boxes, cut off the tops and would hoick into them.
Unfortunately two other words I really dislike demonstrating together are ‘dry’ and *‘retching’ .
When I googled for a photo there were some unexplainable images??? I LOVE GOOGLE… A dog with  crown on, a Mr Potato Head, a digger, a bottle of beer, different photos of wonder bras, the Sydney Opera Hosue, but my favourite by far is shown above; Chef Leung Fai Hung from the restaurant ;Fine Cantonese @ Hoi King Heen, Hong Kong
*DICTIONARY MEANING
Hoick
(also known as hoik)
1)   Informal to rise or raise abruptly and sharply She hoicked her dress above her knees.
2.)  NZ informal to clear the throat and spit. [perhaps a variant of hike]
3)   From the BBC describing Tiger Woods at the British Open: Hole one: Woods opts for a three wood instead of a driver and smashes the ball into the first cut of rough on the left. With a bit of a hoick, Woods blasts his second shot just through the green. His third pitches on the edge of the green and rolls left of the hole to within five feet.He slots the putt in safely.
Retching
(also known as dry heaving) is the reverse movement (peristalsis) of the stomach and esophagus without vomiting. It can be caused by bad smell or choking.
